Fa Hua was startled. Of course he had heard of this man. He was a legendary figure within the Law Domain, its very pillar of stability.
“Fa Hua greets the Divine Envoy of Courage.” As he spoke, he moved to bow, but the Divine Envoy of Courage raised both hands and stopped him.
“Of the Twelve Codices, you are Wisdom. How could you bow to me?”
Though Fa Hua had already guessed as much, hearing it spoken aloud still sent a violent tremor through his heart.
“But I—”
The Divine Envoy of Courage lifted a hand, cutting him off.
“Fa Yun has already reported that you were recognized by the Peerless Pearl. That person just now—that should be your companion. In theory, one at the Ninth Rank cannot become a Divine Envoy. The energy released when a Codex recognizes its master is far beyond what they can bear.”
He paused briefly.
“But you are different. You were chosen by the Peerless Pearl—chosen by the ancestors themselves. With its support, you can reach a level comparable to a Star God. Only then can you withstand the Codex’s recognition. So now, you are the rightful Divine Envoy of Wisdom. Congratulations.”
“Thank you.” Fa Hua felt as though he were dreaming. Three years ago, he had been nothing more than a promising Fifth-Rank youth. And now… because of the Peerless Pearl, because of everything he had experienced, he had become the Divine Envoy of Wisdom. It felt unreal.
“From this day forward, Fa Hua is the second Divine Envoy of the Law Domain, the bearer of the Codex of Wisdom.” The Divine Envoy of Courage’s voice spread throughout Wisdom City, echoing clearly in every corner.
At the gates of the City Lord’s residence, Fa Yun stood frozen, listening in disbelief as his eyes grew moist. The Divine Envoy of Wisdom. At last—the Law Domain had gained a second Divine Envoy.
The Divine Envoy of Courage took hold of Fa Hua, and the two transformed into streaks of light, vanishing into the distance. In the next instant, Fa Hua felt a familiar pull. Guided by that warm, familiar presence, they arrived within a vast temple.
The moment he stepped inside, the holy power within his body surged wildly, as though he had returned to the peak state he experienced when becoming a Divine Envoy.
Looking up, he saw a golden Codex floating in the air at the center of the temple, the word Wisdom shimmering with radiant light.
“This is the First Temple of Wisdom—the place where the Codex of Wisdom resides,” the Divine Envoy of Courage said with a faint smile. “It is also the temple you will guard. Here, you will inherit all that Wisdom has to offer. And through you, those protected by the Twelve Temples will gain a greater future.”
“Yes.” Fa Hua nodded solemnly.
“You have only just become a Divine Envoy. There are things you must understand,” the Divine Envoy of Courage continued. “The Twelve Codices were separated from the Origin of Law by Ancestor Fa Chu at the cost of his life. Each Codex represents a virtue—and a power. If one day the Law Domain produces twelve Divine Envoys, and all twelve Codices are activated together, there is a possibility of restoring the Origin of Law.”
He paused, his gaze deepening.
“According to the ancestor’s legacy, Fa Chu himself never fully mastered the Origin of Law. Otherwise, he would have stood among the greatest beings. He once left these words: if Humanity can truly comprehend the Origin of Law, that will be the moment of our great rise.”
“The appearance of the Seven Divine Pearls signals that our opportunity is approaching. But it is not only an opportunity to rise—it is also a threat of destruction. Whether we survive or perish will depend on our generation. The Seven Divine Pearls are of utmost importance. They are the opportunity left behind by the Seven Holy Ancestors of Humanity. To you, the Peerless Pearl must stand above all else. Above your own life. Above the lives of those closest to you. Only by mastering it completely can Humanity hope to rise.”
“Yes.” Fa Hua responded without hesitation. Having witnessed the Demon Domain firsthand, he understood these words deeply. Humanity stood constantly on the brink of danger—and worse still, the Demon Race could already sense the existence of the Seven Divine Pearls. That was the greatest threat of all.
“After becoming a Divine Envoy, you will be able to draw upon the power of the Codex of Wisdom,” the Divine Envoy of Courage continued. “You should have felt it—when the Codex merges with you, all your abilities are elevated to the tenth tier. But that state is temporary. With your current Ninth-Rank cultivation, you can at most use the power of three Holy Pages—once each. If your companion assists you, the Peerless Pearl’s amplification should allow you to use them a few more times. You will need to test that yourself. Most of the time, you should remain here to cultivate. When you preside over the temple, through you, the Codex will accelerate the cultivation of all those within the reach of the Twelve Temples. There are other things you must learn…”
Endless Blue Sea
Fa Hua’s rise to Divine Envoy of Wisdom was nothing short of meteoric. Within the Law Domain, he now stood alongside the Divine Envoy of Courage—a fact that left Lan Ge more than a little envious.
And when Fa Hua became the Divine Envoy, something else had changed. Their overall cultivation had not increased—but the connection between them had deepened. The Peerless Pearl seemed to have grown stronger. In that fleeting instant, they had both felt as though they had glimpsed the threshold of the Star God realm. That realization alone was invaluable.
Drifting through the Endless Blue Sea, Lan Ge replayed that moment in his mind. Fa Hua had clearly changed. That had been his opportunity. Becoming the Divine Envoy of Wisdom had elevated him completely.
Lan Ge clicked his tongue. Whenever he thought about that guy’s constant air of intellectual superiority, he couldn’t help feeling annoyed. Though, to his dismay, he realized he had long since grown used to being mocked. It barely even angered him anymore.
Fa Hua had found his opportunity. But what about his own?
Although he had reached the Ninth Rank, Lan Ge knew his understanding of the elements had not kept pace. He was still at the level of an Elemental Body. His grasp of the Elemental Heart was shallow—only the most basic level of control.
As a Blessed One, he was undoubtedly powerful among those of the same rank. But that also meant breaking through his limits would be far more difficult.
He would never forget that moment during the Tri-Domain Tournament—when the Child of Darkness, Bei Yue Shangchen, had plunged the world into darkness with a single word. Lan Ge knew that even at the same rank, he could not replicate such power.
That was the gap. The gap in understanding.
As he moved, he quietly sensed the fluctuations of the Water Element around him. Perhaps… once he returned, he would need to visit the Elemental Seas of each attribute he possessed.
With the token given to him by the Sea Giant Emperor, his journey through the Endless Blue Sea was unhindered. And now, with his Ninth-Rank cultivation, his speed far surpassed before. He sped straight toward the Blue Domain.
Green Sea of Life — Underground
If Fa Hua and Lan Ge were here, they would recognize this place. The massive platform now stood empty. The surroundings were silent. Only at the center, a faint red glow flickered intermittently.
The Life Crystals embedded in the cavern ceiling radiated dense life energy.
Then—
A soft sigh echoed through the space. The voice was young, almost delicate, yet carried a strange clarity.
“So that’s how it is… so that’s truly how it is. I never expected such weak humans to find a path to a higher realm. Is this fortune? Or calamity? But no matter. A choice has been made. Humans are cunning—treacherous, even. And yet… their wisdom surpasses that of other races. Even I must admit it. I admire them.”
A brief pause.
“Only by letting go can one be reborn. So this is what Heaven favors. How interesting… a brand new beginning.”
Blue Domain
The phrase “fear of returning home” fit Lan Ge perfectly. But what he felt was more than that—it was sorrow.
From the moment he stepped onto the land of the Blue Domain, memories of his parents flooded his mind. His mother kicking him into the Elemental Sea… that memory made him smile—and then, just as quickly, brought tears to his eyes.
They had given him freedom—but never withheld their love. If only he could start over. If only he had never gone to that nameless island. Never sought the Peerless Pearl. Never brought disaster upon them.
But it was too late. Everything had already happened. Nothing could be undone.
All he could do now was carry on his father’s will—become the Lord of Thunder City, perhaps even strive to become the ruler of the Blue Domain. Though in truth, that was never what he wanted.
For him, it would be enough to protect Thunder City. He still had the Peerless Pearl. He still had to cultivate—grow stronger alongside Fa Hua. The responsibilities on his shoulders were already more than enough. He had neither the time nor the ability to govern an entire nation.
With that realization, his steps grew a little lighter.
And then—
He thought of her. That crimson figure lingered in his mind.
Was she dead?
He didn’t want to believe it. Someone so powerful… and yet she had sacrificed herself for him and Fa Hua. But the Eight Great Heavenly Devils had confirmed it—she had burned her Divine Body. How could she have survived?
He wanted to change it. But he couldn’t. Because in the end—he simply wasn’t strong enough.
He clenched his fists.
Then the answer was simple.
He had to become stronger.
Much stronger.
